Vlotho es un distrito situado a orillas del Weser de la ciudad homónima de Vlotho en el distrito de Herford, en el este de Westfalia. Hasta el 31 de diciembre de 1968, Vlotho era una ciudad independiente en el distrito de Vlotho con las comunidades independientes de Exter y Valdorf. Se amplió el 1 de enero de 1973 mediante la incorporación de la comunidad de Uffeln, situada a la derecha del Weser, del antiguo distrito de Hausberge. El distrito de Vlotho, con 6920 habitantes, es el más poblado de la ciudad, donde también se encuentra la sede administrativa de la ciudad.
