Friemersheim es un barrio de Duisburgo en el distrito de Rheinhausen. El barrio tiene 12.123 habitantes.
Friemersheim es una de las asentamientos más antiguos del antiguo condado de Moers. Esto se evidencia por hallazgos de tumbas de los siglos VI/VII en el área de Rheingoldstraße. Las tesis, según las cuales Carlomagno ya había convocado un parlamento aquí, se basan en un documento que hoy se considera una falsificación. El primer documento auténtico y no falsificado es del 11 de mayo de 898. En este documento, el rey Zwentibold confirma a la abadía de Werden la donación de la propiedad imperial de Friemersheim, que probablemente ya tuvo lugar entre 809 y 814.
