Friemersheim è un quartiere di Duisburg nel distretto di Rheinhausen. Il quartiere ha 12.123 abitanti.
Friemersheim è una delle più antiche colonie dell'ex contea di Moers. Testimoniano a tale riguardo reperti funerari del VI/VII secolo nella zona di Rheingoldstraße. Le tesi secondo cui Carlo Magno avrebbe tenuto qui un Reichstag si basano su un documento che oggi è considerato un falso. Il primo documento autentico non falso risale all'11 maggio 898. In questo documento, re Zwentibold conferma all'abbazia di Werden la donazione del bene imperiale di Friemersheim, che probabilmente avvenne già tra l'809 e l'814.
