Wolfhagen es una pequeña ciudad con un núcleo histórico de entramado en el distrito de Kassel en Hesse del norte. Desde el 21 de febrero de 2019 lleva el sobrenombre de "Ciudad de Hans Staden".
Wolfhagen se encuentra en el norte de Hesse, en el extremo oeste del parque natural Habichtswald, al este del Bosque Largo. Al este de la ciudad se encuentra el Ofenberg, más allá de él se eleva el Isthaberg. En dirección suroeste, el terreno se eleva suavemente hacia el Stöckeberg y hacia el sur hacia el Graner Berg. La ciudad está situada junto al Mühlenwasser, un afluente del Erpe, que pasa un poco al noreste del núcleo urbano; en el Mühlenwasser desembocan los ríos Duse- y Limeckebach en o cerca de Wolfhagen.
