El castillo de Frankenberg, también llamado Frankenburg, se encuentra en el llamado barrio de Frankenberger, un distrito de Aquisgrán en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. Su nombre se deriva del término "franco", que representa un castillo libre e independiente. Sin embargo, poco tiempo después de su construcción, el castillo de llanura se convirtió en un feudo de los condes y posteriores duques de Jülich, Kleve y Berg.
