Heiden es un municipio en Westmünsterland, en el noroeste de Renania del Norte-Westfalia, y pertenece al distrito de Borken en la región administrativa de Münster.
Heiden se encuentra en el oeste de la cuenca de Westfalia y al norte del parque natural Hohe Mark-Westmünsterland. Está situado al sur de la cadena montañosa Die Berge.
Con un porcentaje forestal del 23,1 %, Heiden es el municipio más boscoso del distrito de Borken. La mayor parte de estas áreas forestales se extienden por el Uhlenberg, donde también se encuentran las piedras del diablo. El entorno de Heiden está atravesado por varios afluentes del Borkener Aa, que pertenecen al sistema fluvial IJssel. Solo el Wellbruchbach en el sur está asociado con el sistema de Lippe.
