El Emmer es un afluente de 61,8 km de largo, situado al suroeste o a la izquierda del Weser, en Renania del Norte-Westfalia y Baja Sajonia. A lo largo del Emmer transcurren el Emmerweg y, en parte, la línea de tren Hannover–Altenbeken.
El Emmer nace en las montañas de Egge. Su fuente se encuentra en la vertiente oriental del Rehberg, que tiene 427 m de altura, al norte de un saliente oriental llamado Habichtsberg. Está situada en la localidad de Langeland de la ciudad de Bad Driburg, aproximadamente a un kilómetro al suroeste de la ubicación del pueblo de Langeland.
