El castillo de Eckartsburg, también conocido como Eckartsberga, es un castillo en altura parcialmente conservado y se encuentra en un macizo montañoso del paisaje de Finne, más precisamente en el borde sur de los relieves de la cadena montañosa de Finne, sobre la pequeña ciudad de Eckartsberga en el distrito de Burgenland, en el parque natural Saale-Unstrut-Triasland, cerca de la frontera estatal de Sajonia-Anhalt con Turingia. El castillo es gestionado por un restaurante y se encuentra en la Ruta de la Romanika.
El castillo consta de un castillo central y un castillo anterior; se accede a él a través de un arco de entrada de 8,2 metros de longitud. El arco tiene un nicho como vivienda para el portero, que también se utilizó como prisión. El castillo principal es accesible a través de una puerta de 10,4 metros de longitud y 2,8 metros de ancho con muros de tres metros de grosor.
