De Eckartsburg, ook wel Eckartsberga genoemd, is een gedeeltelijk behouden hoogteburcht en bevindt zich op een bergrug van het Finnelandschap, meer specifiek aan de zuidelijke rand van uitlopers van de Finne-hoogte, boven de stad Eckartsberga in het Burgenlandkreis, in het natuurpark Saale-Unstrut-Triasland, dicht bij de grens van Sachsen-Anhalt met Thüringen. De burcht wordt beheerd door een burchtrestaurant en ligt aan de Romaanse route.
De burcht bestaat uit de hoofdtoren en de voorburcht; de toegang geschiedt via een 8,2 meter lange poortboog. De poortboog heeft een nis als woning voor de poortwachter, die ook als gevangenis werd gebruikt. De hoofdtoren is toegankelijk via een 10,4 meter lange en 2,8 meter brede poort met drie meter dikke muren.
