El castillo de Hülshoff es un típico castillo de agua del Münsterland, que ya fue mencionado en documentos en el siglo XI. Su nombre probablemente se deriva de la familia noble ministerial Hüls de Kleve, los supuestos constructores del castillo, que descendían de los condes de Tecklenburg. Se encuentra entre Havixbeck y el suburbio de Münster, Roxel, y pertenece desde 1975 al municipio de Havixbeck. El castillo fue propiedad de los barones Droste de Hülshoff desde 1417 hasta 2012 y es la casa natal y familiar de la poetisa Annette von Droste-Hülshoff y de otros miembros prominentes de su familia.
