El Staufenberg cerca de Vellmar en el distrito de Kassel en el norte de Hesse es una montaña de 361,2 m sobre el nivel del mar del meseta de Langen- y Staufenberg en el paisaje montañoso de Hesse Occidental.
El Staufenberg se eleva en el sureste de la meseta de Langen- y Staufenberg, en la parte noroeste del área urbana de Vellmar en el distrito de Obervellmar. Su cima se encuentra a 2,2 km al noroeste de Obervellmar, a 1,4 km al norte-noreste del barrio de Heckershausen en Ahnatal, a 4,2 km al sur-sureste del núcleo de Calden y a 1,7 km al suroeste del barrio de Mönchehof en Espenau. A través de su flanco sur y su alargamiento sur-suroeste, el Stahlberg, su paisaje boscoso cae en el tramo del valle de la Ahne ubicado en Heckershausen. Su afluente Elsche nace al este del Staufenberg, y la fuente del afluente de Fulda, Espe, se encuentra un poco al noreste de la montaña. Al suroeste de su cima hay un depósito de agua.
