El Mal Siete es un arroyo que nace en el lado este de los Harz. Fluye a través del distrito de Mansfeld-Südharz por la ciudad luterana de Eisleben y desemboca en el Lago Dulce en Lüttchendorf, desde donde dos brazos de desembocadura fluyen hacia el Lago Binder al norte y al sur de Seeburg, y desde este último, uno más hacia el Lago Kerner. Desde este último, el agua se bombea finalmente a unas pocas decenas de metros hacia el Salza, conocido como Querne y Weida en el tramo superior y medio, que desemboca en el Saale en Salzmünde.
Hasta el Lago Dulce, el nivel de elevación del Mal Siete cae de unos 200 m sobre el nivel del mar a 92,6 m sobre el nivel del mar. Desde allí, la altura cae de manera relativamente abrupta a 79,9 m sobre el nivel del mar en el Lago Binder y 78,7 m sobre el nivel del mar en el Lago Kerner, desde donde se bombea nuevamente a unos 85,4 m sobre el nivel del mar hacia el Salza.
