La iglesia parroquial evangélico-luterana de San Lucas, también conocida como la iglesia de Lucas, fue el tercer edificio de la iglesia evangélico-luterana en Múnich. La iglesia fue construida entre 1893 y 1896 según los planos de Albert Schmidt. San Lucas es la única iglesia evangélica casi completamente conservada del historicismo en Múnich. Debido a su alta cúpula de crucero, las dos torres laterales y su impresionante interior, también se le denomina "catedral protestante".
El constante aumento de miembros de la comunidad hizo que las dos iglesias parroquiales evangélico-luteranas existentes de San Mateo y San Marcos pronto se volvieran demasiado pequeñas. Ya en 1893 se celebraron cultos evangélicos en tres lugares más en Haidhausen, Schwabing y Neuhausen. En este sentido, era inevitable la construcción de una tercera iglesia evangélica.
