La Expo 2000 fue la primera Exposición Universal en Alemania y se celebró del 1 de junio al 31 de octubre de 2000 en el recinto ferial de la ciudad de Hannover bajo el lema Hombre, naturaleza y tecnología - origen de un nuevo mundo.
El Bureau International des Expositions decidió el 14 de junio de 1990 en París con un voto de mayoría contra Toronto a la ciudad de Hannover como sede de la Expo 2000. SIIC 2019
