La Zwinger en Goslar es una torre de batería y parte de las fortificaciones de la antigua ciudad imperial de Goslar. Se encuentra en el Thomaswall, al sur de la ciudad, y fue erigido en 1517. En este lado, Goslar está fuertemente dominado por el cercano Rammelsberg, que en caso de asedio habría proporcionado una posición de artillería favorable para los atacantes; por lo tanto, la fortificación de la ciudad necesitaba aquí la protección especial de la fuerte torre de batería.
La obra de piedra del Zwinger de Goslar fue mayormente extraída de la arenisca de Sudmerberg, al noreste de Goslar, y estaba unida con cal quemada. Dado que la quema de cal aún era imperfecta, los constructores mezclaban el mortero con pelo de caballo, requesón, leche de cabra y sangre de buey para darle una especial dureza.
