El Cuerpo de Bomberos de Cuxhaven en el Departamento 700 - Protección contra incendios y servicios de rescate - del Ayuntamiento de Cuxhaven se divide en el cuerpo de bomberos profesional y en el cuerpo de bomberos voluntario con 11 cuerpos de bomberos locales.
Las tareas especiales del cuerpo de bomberos profesional son la lucha contra incendios en barcos, la asistencia técnica y el cuidado de heridos en el mar, rescates en el barro y en el agua, así como rescates en altura, para lo cual el personal del cuerpo de bomberos profesional también es desplegado más allá de las fronteras de la ciudad.
