De brandweer Cuxhaven in afdeling 700 - brandbeveiliging en reddingsdiensten - van de gemeente Cuxhaven is onderverdeeld in de beroepsbrandweer en de vrijwillige brandweer met 11 plaatselijke brandweerkorpsen.
Bijzondere taken van de beroepsbrandweer zijn scheepsbrandbestrijding, technische hulpverlening en gewondenverzorging op zee, wad- en waterreddingen en hoogte-reddingen, waarvoor de hulpdiensten van de beroepsbrandweer ook buiten de stadsgrenzen worden ingezet.
