El Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg es parte del centro de colegios profesionales del distrito de Herford en Aawiesen. Aquí también se encuentran el Wilhelm-Normann-Berufskolleg y el Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg. El patrono de la escuela es Friedrich List. El FLB está directamente junto al Aa y en vecindad del parque Aawiesen. El Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg cuenta con 60 aulas, que se dividen en 3 salas para grupos pequeños, 14 aulas de informática, un centro de autoaprendizaje, una sala EVA, aulas especializadas y, finalmente, 40 aulas. Las clases de educación física se llevan a cabo en dos gimnasios que el FLB comparte con los dos colegios profesionales vecinos. En el año 2010, había 118 docentes en el Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg, que enseñaban en 15 programas educativos aproximadamente a 800 estudiantes de formación profesional, 1000 estudiantes de tiempo completo y 250 estudiantes de formación técnica.
