El castillo de Blens se encuentra a 205 m sobre el nivel del mar en el borde este de Blens, un barrio de Heimbach, por encima del Rur en el distrito de Düren, Renania del Norte-Westfalia.
Ya a principios del siglo XII, un Johannes de Blens selló documentos. En 1380, la familia de Blens se extinguió en línea masculina. A través del matrimonio, la fortaleza pasó a la familia von Berg, que se extinguió en 1550. Agnes von Blens heredó la fortificación. A través de matrimonios, el castillo llegó a los barones Raitz von Frentz en el siglo XVIII y luego a los barones Beissel von Gymnich. Nuevamente por matrimonio, el castillo pasó a la familia von Abercron a través de Georg Anton Beissel von Gymnich en el siglo XX, que todavía lo posee y reside en él hoy en día.
