El castillo de Baldeney, también llamado Casa Baldeney, se encuentra en el barrio Bredeney de Essen y se originó a partir de un castillo de agua medieval. Le dio su nombre al Baldeneysee, que fue terminado en 1933 y está situado en su costa norte, y está protegido como monumento arquitectónico y arqueológico.
El complejo actual del castillo fue construido con arenisca de Ruhr y consta, además del edificio principal, de un antiguo edificio de servicio y la capilla adyacente. Anteriormente, estaba rodeado por un foso que, aunque ha sido rellenado desde aproximadamente 1890, aún es reconocible en el terreno. El catastro original de 1875 muestra la propiedad con amplios fosos y edificios de servicio, que ya no se conservan.
