El Mentzelpark se encuentra en el barrio Köpenick del distrito Treptow-Köpenick en Berlín. Recibe su nombre de Albert Mentzel, quien era el propietario del terreno.
Mentzel era el cuñado del empresario y consejero comercial Carl Spindler, y socio de la lavandería y empresa de tintorería W. Spindler. La villa de Albert Mentzel, que incluía un parque, estaba situada en la Oberspreestraße y la propiedad se extendía hasta el Spree. En 1925, la ciudad adquirió el parque. Hoy en día, es parte del camino número 1 de los 20 principales caminos verdes que atraviesan Berlín y del Europaradweg R1. En 2011 se renovaron los bordes en la ladera. Desde 2013 hay planes para designar una parte de las áreas como huertos comunitarios.
