Il Mentzelpark si trova nel quartiere Köpenick di Berlino, nel distretto di Treptow-Köpenick. È intitolato ad Albert Mentzel, che possedeva il terreno.
Mentzel era il cognato dell'imprenditore e consigliere commerciale Carl Spindler ed era co-proprietario dell'azienda di lavanderia e tintoria W. Spindler. La villa di Albert Mentzel, a cui apparteneva un parco, si trovava in Oberspreestraße e la proprietà si estendeva fino al fiume Spree. Nel 1925 la città acquisì il parco. Oggi fa parte del percorso numero 1 dei 20 principali sentieri verdi che attraversano Berlino e della Europaradweg R1. Nel 2011 sono stati rinnovati i confini della collina. Dal 2013 ci sono pianificazioni per designare una parte delle aree come prati da frutto.
