Prieros fue mencionado por primera vez en 1314 en documentos y se originó de un asentamiento eslavo en la montaña Schadlischka. El pueblo de pescadores y agricultores, que más tarde creció como un pueblo redondo alrededor de una plaza del pueblo, se convirtió en un destino de excursiones y vacaciones desde principios del siglo XX y se extiende a lo largo de las aguas de Dahme, Schmölde, Langer See, Streganzer See y Tiefer See.
En 1992, se unió con otras once comunidades para formar la oficina de Friedersdorf. Desde el 26 de octubre de 2003, Prieros, con aproximadamente 1000 habitantes, es un distrito del municipio de Heidesee.
