Prieros è stata menzionata per la prima volta nel 1314 in documenti ufficiali ed è emersa da un insediamento slavo sulla montagna di Schadlischka. Il villaggio di pescatori e agricoltori, cresciuto successivamente come un borgo attorno a un'area del villaggio, è diventato una meta di escursioni e vacanze all'inizio del XX secolo ed si estende lungo le acque della Dahme, Schmölde, Langer See, Streganzer See e Tiefer See.
Nel 1992 si è unita ad altre undici comunità per formare l'amministrazione di Friedersdorf. Dal 26 ottobre 2003, Prieros con i suoi circa 1000 abitanti è una frazione del comune di Heidesee.
