Prieros a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document en 1314 et a émergé d’une colonie slave sur la montagne Schadlischka. Le village de pêcheurs et d’agriculteurs, qui s’est ensuite développé comme un Rundling autour d’une prairie de village, est devenu au début du 20ème siècle un lieu d’excursion et de vacances et s’étend le long des eaux Dahme, Schmölde, Langer See, Streganzer See et Tiefer See.
En 1992, elle fusionne avec onze autres communes pour former l’Amt de Friedersdorf. Depuis le 26 octobre 2003, Prieros, avec ses quelque 1000 habitants, est un quartier de la municipalité de Heidesee.
