El disco celeste de Nebra fue excavado en 1999 junto con espadas y hachas de bronce por los arqueólogos aficionados Henry Westphal y Mario Renner en el Mittelberg, una colina cerca del pueblo de Nebra, a unos 60 kilómetros al oeste de Leipzig, en el estado alemán de Sajonia-Anhalt. El disco de Nebra es la representación más antigua del cielo en la Tierra. Es el instrumento astronómico conocido más antiguo del mundo. El disco de bronce de color verde mar es de entre 3.600 y 3.750 años de antigüedad.
