La central térmica de Chemnitz-Nord es una planta de energía alimentada por lignito ubicada en el norte de la ciudad de Chemnitz, con una potencia eléctrica instalada de 230 MW.
La planta fue construida bajo el nombre de "Central Térmica Norte I" a partir de 1957. La colocación de la piedra angular tuvo lugar el 30 de abril de 1959. El primer bloque de la planta se conectó a la red el 1 de diciembre de 1961. En total, se instalaron tres conjuntos de máquinas con una potencia de 25 MW cada uno. La planta servía para el suministro de energía de la ciudad de Chemnitz y proporcionaba calefacción urbana para aproximadamente 14,000 hogares. La "Central Térmica Norte I" fue desactivada el 4 de abril de 1997.
