La Estación central de Dresde es la estación más grande de la capital del Estado federado alemán de Sajonia. Se comenzó a construir en 1892 y abrió sus puertas a los viajeros en la primavera de 1898. La estación resultó seriamente dañada durante los bombardeos de la II Guerra Mundial. En 2000 comenzaron unas obras para rehabilitarla a fondo y en noviembre de 2006 se inauguró oficialmente.
En la actualidad es operada por la compañía Deutsche Bahn . Una de las peculiaridades más significativas de la estación es su techo de membrana de fibra de vidrio con revestimiento de teflón.
