La Volksbank Chemnitz eG es el segundo banco cooperativo más grande en el este de Alemania con sede en Chemnitz.
Las bases legales del banco son sus estatutos y la ley de cooperativas. Los órganos del banco cooperativo son el consejo de administración, el consejo de supervisión y la asamblea de representantes. El banco está afiliado a la BVR Institutssicherung GmbH reconocida oficialmente y a la institución de garantía adicional voluntaria de la Asociación Federal de Bancos Populares y Raiffeisen de Alemania e.V.
La Volksbank Chemnitz eG fue fundada el 19 de septiembre de 1869. Tras la fusión en 2003 con la Raiffeisenbank Werdau-Zwickau, siguió en 2012 la fusión con la Volksbank Erzgebirge.
