El Langenstüttig y el mar de bloques de basalto en el Buchschirmküppel cerca de Batten es un área de protección natural de aproximadamente 97½ hectáreas en el municipio hessiano de Hilders en el distrito de Fulda. La mayor parte del área está designada como zona central en la reserva de biosfera Rhön. Además, el área protegida se encuentra dentro de la mucho más extensa zona de protección de aves de la UE Hessische Rhön. De este modo, las áreas son parte de la red de áreas protegidas europea Natura 2000.
El área protegida Langenstüttig y el mar de bloques de basalto en el Buchschirmküppel cerca de Batten se encuentra a ambos lados de la carretera estatal 3176 que une el municipio hessiano de Hilders con el municipio turingio de Frankenheim, aproximadamente en el centro entre los dos lugares. Se creó al fusionar en 2013 el área protegida declarada en 1970 del mar de bloques de basalto en el Buchschirmküppel al noroeste de la carretera estatal y el área protegida Langenstüttig declarada en 1985 al sureste de la carretera en un área protegida común. De la superficie total de 97,45 ha, 88,48 ha pertenecen a la zona central y 7,97 ha a la zona de cuidado en la reserva de biosfera Rhön.
