La Gran Piedra de los Tres Señores es un punto de cruce de varias antiguas rutas comerciales en el Rennsteig, en el Bosque de Turingia.
La Piedra de los Tres Señores se encuentra directamente en el Rennsteig a 808 metros de altura, aproximadamente a diez kilómetros al sur de Ilmenau. Representa el centro del Rennsteig. Además, está situada en una divisoria de aguas; al sur, el agua es drenada hacia el Weser a través de la esclusa, al norte surgen los ríos Lengwitz y Schorte, al noreste el Schobse y al este a través del Ochsenbach hacia el Wohlrose. Todos son afluentes del Ilm y, por ende, del Elba.
