La Antigua Cervecería de Potsdam se encuentra en Babelsberg, en la antigua colonia de tejedores, detrás de la propiedad Alt Nowawes 30 y 30a. La cervecería constaba de varios edificios. Según los pocos documentos disponibles, primero se construyó la torre de refrigeración entre 1860 y 1875. A partir de 1895 se edificaron el edificio principal en estilo neorrenacentista y el establo. Hasta 1939, aquí se elaboraba la cerveza "Schlossbräu".
Durante la guerra, los sótanos abovedados sirvieron como refugios antiaéreos. Más tarde, en los edificios había una carpintería, un taller y varios almacenes. Tras la reunificación, los edificios quedaron vacíos y se deterioraron. Por encargo de la ciudad, en 2004 un promotor de renovación compró la propiedad y elaboró un plan de urbanismo.
