De oude brouwerij Potsdam bevindt zich in Babelsberg in de oude weverskolonie achter het perceel Alt Nowawes 30 en 30a. De brouwerij bestond uit verschillende gebouwen. Volgens de weinige beschikbare documenten werd eerst de koeltoren gebouwd tussen 1860 en 1875. Vanaf 1895 ontstonden het hoofdgebouw in de stijl van de neorenaissance en de paardenstal. Tot 1939 werd hier het bier "Schlossbräu" gebrouwen.
Tijdens de oorlog dienden de gewelfde kelders als luchtbeschermingsbunkers. Later waren er in de gebouwen een timmerwerkplaats, een werkplaats en verschillende opslagruimtes. Na de hereniging stonden de gebouwen leeg en vervielen. In opdracht van de stad kocht een renovatiedrager in 2004 het perceel en ontwikkelde een bestemmingsplan.
