El Teatro y Orquesta de Heidelberg es una casa de cinco disciplinas con teatro musical, conciertos, teatro y danza, así como una compañía propia para teatro infantil y juvenil. En la temporada 2012/13 se estableció de nuevo una compañía de danza en el Teatro y Orquesta de Heidelberg con la Dance Company Nanine Linning/Teatro Heidelberg. En la temporada 2018/19, el coreógrafo español y ex bailarín Iván Pérez asumió la dirección artística del nuevo Dance Theatre Heidelberg en sucesión de la coreógrafa Nanine Linning. Desde 2005, la Orquesta Filarmónica de la ciudad de Heidelberg también forma parte del teatro y crea su propia área con numerosos conciertos y la acompañamiento de producciones operísticas. El director artístico desde la temporada 2011/12 es Holger Schultze. El 1 de junio de 2017, extendió su contrato hasta 2026.
