La batalla de Abensberg tuvo lugar el 20 de abril de 1809 como parte de la Guerra de la Quinta Coalición, que enfrentaba al Primer Imperio Francés junto a sus aliados frente al Imperio Austríaco. La fuerza franco-alemana estaba al mando del Emperador Napoleón I de Francia y las fuerzas del Imperio Austríaco eran comandadas por el Teniente General Luis de Habsburgo-Lorena.
A medida que la jornada terminaba, el Teniente General Johann von Hiller llegó a Abensberg con refuerzos para tomar el mando de los tres cuerpos de ejército que formaban el flanco izquierdo del ejército austríaco. El campo de batalla se situaba al sureste de Abensberg, e incluyó escaramuzas en Offenstetten, Biburg-Siegenburg, Rohr in Niederbayern y Rottenburg an der Laaber. Ese mismo día capituló la guarnición francesa en Ratisbona.
