El Bajo Oste es un área de conservación en los municipios de Oberndorf, Cadenberge y la localidad de Neuhaus en la comunidad de Land Hadeln en el distrito de Cuxhaven, así como en el municipio de Balje en la comunidad de Nordkehdingen en el distrito de Stade.
El área de conservación, con la designación NSG LÜ 318, tiene aproximadamente 469 hectáreas de tamaño. Partes del área de protección son también parte del área FFH "Unterelbe". El área de conservación "Schnook, áreas exteriores del dique en Geversdorf", designada en 2004, se ha integrado en el área de conservación "Bajo Oste". Al norte se encuentran las áreas de conservación "Ostesee" y "Reservas de aves salvajes Nordkehdingen". El área está protegida desde el 17 de noviembre de 2017. Las autoridades de conservación de la naturaleza competentes son los distritos de Cuxhaven y Stade.
