Bokeloh tiene aproximadamente 1240 habitantes en una superficie de 4,45 km² y se encuentra a orillas del Hase en el este del área urbana de Meppen.
El pintor Otto Pankok vivió entre 1938 y 1941 en Bokeloh, apartado con su familia, para poder vivir y trabajar sin ser molestado por los nazis. En la antigua escuela del pueblo, que fue renovada en 2002, se le recuerda con una exposición permanente.
