Osterbrock es una localidad en el Ems entre Lingen y Meppen con aproximadamente 1800 habitantes. Osterbrock pertenece al municipio de Geeste en el distrito de Emsland en Baja Sajonia.
En el área de la actual Osterbrock se estableció en 1907 la finca agrícola Geeste. Bajo la dirección de Heinrich Kuhr, la cooperativa de colonización Emsland compró esta finca en 1932 a la Harpener Bergbau AG y a partir de ella se crearon muchos asentamientos más pequeños para nuevos colonos. Así llegaron también colonos evangélicos al lugar que hasta entonces era completamente católico. Construyeron la capilla Friedrich-von-Bodelschwingh en 1934. En la década de 1930, Aloys Schockemöhle, el padre de Alwin y Paul Schockemöhle, vivía en la finca.
