Sarre ) es uno de los dieciséis estados federados de Alemania, el cuarto de menor extensión tras Bremen, Hamburgo y Berlín. Su nombre deriva del río Sarre y está situado entre Luxemburgo y la región francesa de Gran Este, territorios con los que está experimentando una creciente convergencia gracias al espacio de cooperación transfronteriza denominado Saar-Lor-Lux.
