Karken es un lugar en el municipio alemán de Heinsberg, en el estado federado de Renania del Norte-Westfalia, y cuenta con 3498 habitantes. Karken se encuentra cerca de la frontera con los Países Bajos y justo al sur del río Roer. La carretera principal de Roermond a Heinsberg atraviesa la localidad.
En 1198, Karken fue mencionado por primera vez por escrito como Kerreke. Un tal Giselbertus von Kerreke era entonces el señor local. En 1591 tuvo lugar una masacre perpetrada por soldados españoles contra civiles que se habían refugiado en la iglesia.
