El Ayuntamiento de Solingen consta de un conjunto de edificios que rodea la Plaza Walter-Scheel en el distrito medio de Solingen y se extiende hasta la calle Cronenberger al este. Se encuentra al norte del centro de Solingen y está compuesto, por un lado, por dos edificios conectados entre sí en la calle Cronenberger 59/61, que se denominan edificios WKC. A estos se añadió a mediados de la década de 2000 el llamado nuevo edificio del Ayuntamiento a lo largo de la calle Merian hasta la Plaza Walter-Scheel. A lo largo de la calle Konrad-Adenauer se encuentra un nuevo edificio más, el edificio de la Plaza Walter-Scheel 3, que incluye no solo oficinas municipales, sino también espacios comerciales y de gastronomía. Allí también se encuentra un centro de autoservicio de la ciudad de la caja de ahorros de Solingen.
