Un símbolo de la amistad franco-alemana que se encuentra en el punto más alto del "camino fronterizo", exactamente en la frontera de los dos países. La inspiración viene de la "Cruz de Ferro" en el camino de Santiago de Compostela. Cada peregrino coloca una piedra al pie de un poste de madera rematado por una cruz de hierro, para aliviar sus penas y preocupaciones. Aquí el poste está coronado por una cruz de Lorena. Los excursionistas de Francia colocan las piedras recogidas en suelo francés y los excursionistas de Alemania colocan las piedras recogidas en suelo alemán. Así, este creciente montón de piedras es un símbolo del desarrollo de la amistad franco-alemana.
