El Museo Arqueológico Nacional es un Museo Nacional español con sede en el Palacio de Biblioteca y Museos Nacionales de Madrid, un edificio del siglo XIX, iniciado por el arquitecto Francisco Jareño y Alarcón y finalizado por Antonio Ruiz de Salces, que comparte con la Biblioteca Nacional[2] y que se ubica en la calle Serrano, junto a la plaza de Colón.
Es el principal museo español dedicado a la arqueología. Su colección se basa en piezas de la Península Ibérica, desde la Prehistoria hasta la Edad Moderna. No obstante, también tiene diferentes colecciones procedentes de fuera de España, en especial de la Antigua Grecia, tanto de la metropolitana como, sobre todo, de la Magna Grecia, y, en menor medida, del Antiguo Egipto, además de «un número reducido de piezas» de Oriente Próximo.[3]
