Gutierre-Muñoz es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Ávila, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. Se halla situado en la cañada real que unía Madrid y Valladolid.[cita requerida] Cuenta con una población de 71 habitantes .La población de Gutierre-Muñoz surge en la época medieval a partir de la repoblación del siglo XI de las tierras de Ávila, dirigida por Raimundo de Borgoña, bajo las órdenes de Alfonso VI. Su origen viene de un pueblo surgido a raíz de su posición en una cañada real.Aquí murió a los 58 años, aquejado de unas fiebres, Alfonso VIII de Castilla "el de Las Navas", el 5 de octubre de 1214, cuando se dirigía hacia Plasencia para entrevistarse con su yerno Alfonso II de Portugal.
