La Garrovilla es un municipio y localidad de España, en la provincia de Badajoz, comunidad autónoma de Extremadura. La localidad existe al menos desde el siglo XIII, cuando la zona quedó bajo control de la Orden de Santiago, tras la Reconquista cristiana. La villa está enclavada en las fértiles tierras agrícolas de las Vegas Bajas del río Guadiana y situada a 15 km de Mérida y a 50 km de Badajoz. Pertenece a la comarca de Tierra de Mérida - Vegas Bajas, al Partido judicial de Montijo y a la Mancomunidad Integral de Servicios Vegas Bajas.
