En la actualidad se está construyendo en una gran zona del municipio la segunda planta termo-solar más grande de Europa, por lo que este pueblo contribuye enormemente en actividades de energías renovables ayudando a conservar el medio ambiente.Se encuentra en la Ruta de las Cruces, destinada a dar a conocer las ermitas, iglesias y construcciones religiosas construidas en la en la comarca de Llanos de Olivenza, que es a la que pertenece este pueblo. Está dentro del Partido judicial de Olivenza.
