Elgueta[1] es un municipio de la provincia de Guipúzcoa en el País Vasco, España. Pertenece a la comarca del Alto Deva. Tiene una población de 1131 habitantes según el padrón del año 2017 y una superficie de 16,83 km². Su densidad poblacional es de 67,20 hab./km².Se ubica en un promontorio poco resguardado, estratégicamente situado en la frontera de Guipúzcoa con Vizcaya. Desde los primeros tiempos de la historia de la comunidad, su economía ha sido eminentemente rural . La creación de polígonos industriales en los últimos años del siglo XX ha dado lugar al establecimiento de un número relevante de empresas.
