Novés es un municipio español situado en la provincia de Toledo, perteneciente a la comunidad autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha.
Según Belosillo,[1] el término "Novés" se deriva del latín NOVUS 'nuevo'. Gómez-Menor[2] detalla más, al indicar que se deriva de NOVALIS 'que se deja en reposo', referido a un campo o tierra. Para García Sánchez[3] resulta difícil explicar tanto su origen como su motivación, aceptando que podría ser un derivado de novo mediante el sufijo -és.
