Maçanet de la Selva [1] es un municipio español de la provincia de Gerona, Cataluña. Pertenece a la comarca de La Selva. Está cerca de Santa Coloma de Farnés, Sils, Vidreras y Tordera. Está a unos 15 minutos de Tordera y a una media hora de Gerona.
Integrado en la comarca de La Selva, se sitúa a 27 kilómetros de la capital provincial. El término municipal está atravesado por la autopista del Mediterráneo y por la antigua carretera N-II entre los pK 687 y 690, además de por la carretera autonómica C-35 que permite la comunicación con Hostalrich y la Costa Brava.
