El Jarama es un río de la península ibérica, uno de los afluentes más importantes del Tajo. Nace en las estribaciones de la peña Cebollera.[a] Discurre por las provincias españolas de Guadalajara y Madrid y se trata del río más largo de los que recorren esta última, atravesándola de norte a sur por su mitad este, sirviendo algunos de sus tramos de límite entre Madrid y Guadalajara. Sus principales afluentes son, por la margen derecha, los ríos Lozoya, Guadalix y Manzanares; y, por la izquierda, el Jaramilla, el Henares y el Tajuña.
